We bought our retirement home in Kona in 2013 and moved in three years later. The 30 year old house had good bones but needed some serious upgrades. We had a vision of what we wanted, and George Murphy made it happen. A pool and lanai were the big parts, and we gutted the kitchen and a bath. Lighting and fans were moved in every room of the house. Floor coverings were replaced throughout. The pool drove the need for a serious electric power upgrade. George led us through the design, permitting and construction. To complicate matters, I lived in the house throughout the ten months of months of construction and was the project’s painter. Communication with George was clear and efficient. His stable of craftsmen were talented, professional and dependable. Work was scheduled efficiently and proceeded on schedule. Because in a remodel you never know what you’ll find behind the walls, we agreed to a time and materials contract with a projected cost and schedule. His office staff provided task, activity and billing reports that let us track our progress. When we were done the place exceeded our expectations and was on schedule and on price.

After living in the home, we identified a dozen or so small project additions we wanted to have done. George and his crew got them done with fit and finish that matched the original perfectly. A year later we decided to take on the master bathroom that was not addressed in the first phase of the remodel. Again, George and the crew worked around us to provide a wonderful product and experience.
